THERE COULD BE MANY OF THINGS THAT ARE SLOWING YOUR COMPUTER. ONE BAD THING IS TO HAVE MORE THAN ONE ANTI VIRUS ON YOUR COMPUTER THAT JUST blocks each other out
and one of the things that i might think that slowing it down is maybe you got to many things open at the same time. or running alot of programs at the same time aswell

well you can reduce the number of programs running
go to your stat button and look for run
    type msconfig
then go to the startup tab
pick the programs you want to run
but make sure you do not shut of necessary programs or else you system would crash

definitely take out an anti virus they usually count each other as viruses and and clearly make the computer run slow. you might also try defragging your computer as well as deleting things that you never use on your computer. be careful not to delete important computer files though.

    1. Defragment your Hard drive
Defragmenting your hard drive gives you more room on your disk and sometimes will increase performance.
    In Windows XP & Vista
    I. Go to start and click all programmes. Navigate to Accessories, click on system tools, and finally click Disk Defragmenter
II. Select your System drive and click defragment.

    2. Increase the RAM (Random Access Memory) of your computer
Increasing the RAM of your computer increases the speed of some applications. Each system is different, do chances are you’ll need to resort to your computer’s manual. The standard amount of RAM on computers these days is 1GB. 2GBs of RAM is fast enough for most people.

    3. Clean up your Hard Drive
Cleaning up your hard drive often increases the speed of your computer.
Delete the following to find greatly improved performance…
    >Old documents
    >Unused programmes
    >Old backups
    >Unnecessary drivers that came with your computer
    >Outdated files

P.S You shouldn’t have 2 antivirus programmes. Uninstall the older one and keep the newer one.

what is slow? slow video buffering over and over, slow games pauses/lockups? a long time to load internet pages.typing and waiting for your words to appear? lots of reasons lots of causes.if all your problems are on the internet you need to have your DSL/broadband checked you can go online and find a sight to check your speed. click start ,programs, accessories, system tools ,disk cleanup ,delete all your tempory files and cookies,if you have never done it it might take a while just wait till it finishes. then do disk defragmenter .if you only have 500 meg or less processor it will be naturally slow.dial up internet very very slow.you should only have 1 anti-virus they are not compatible sooner or later they will interfere with one another.

Have you ever defragged your computer?

Hard drive fragmentation will severely affect the speed and reliability of your computer. Fragmentation is often the cause of system slows, malfunctions such as system hangs, program errors or a complete crash.

So defrag your hard drive, better yet, install an automatic defrag like Diskeeper, you can download free trialware at http://www.diskeeper.com

Running 2 anti-virus programs will cause more problems than protect it. Use just one, like AVG.

As for speeding up your computer, assuming you have no hardware issues, do this:

    (1) Run a FULL anti-virus scan with a good virus scanner. Use the latest virus definitions file.

    (2) Run anti-spyware scans with Spybot S&D and AdAware

    (3) Ensure all Microsoft security updates are applied.

    (4) Run diskcleanup using Ccleaner to delete old temp files and other junk

    (5) Run a thorough disk defrag. Use a good defragmenter for this, and also run a boot-time defrag to fix the MFT and page file if they are fragmented. You can check out Diskeeper 2009, which is widely acknowledged to be the best defragger around. Their website has free 30-day trial versions. http://www.diskeeper.com

    (6) Disable unnecessary background processes and services that take up memory.

    (7) Make sure all the hardware components have the latest and most stable drivers. Video card performance in particular is strongly dependent on drivers.

    Good Luck!

When is the last time you cleaned your registry and fully optimized your computer? This is a frequent causes of a computer being slow. It is simply overwhelmed with useless and problematic files and programs. I would recommend giving your computer a jump start by performing a diagnostic test. You can get a free scan at

Using a registry cleaner can clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some registry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause “computer slow”.
Every time you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you’ve installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it’s Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Registry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically!
There are some comparison and review of TOP 5 registry cleaners.
