Why Is My Computer Running Slow

I’m getting a Dell Laptop with 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor and 4GB RAM and Vista Home Premium

I like it when everything starts automatically.

I plan to have the following programs start automatically at computer startup:
AVG Free
Skype
CCleaner
Pidgin
Thunderbird

Will all this software slow my computer down at startup and its overall speed?
