Take This Important First Step to Learn How to Speed Up a Slow Computer

A lot of people now are using computers, from desktops to the super slim and high tech laptops. Computers have become the partner of every professional, student and office and field workers to complete their everyday work. It assists all of them to make the work easier and faster, especially in handling information and data. It also plays the part of an entertainment center and social network medium. Its ability to play video games and to enable meeting new people in different parts of the word is just amazing. Computer users are becoming so dependent in this machine and when the computer is running very slow, there is so much frustration because it makes users miss on many things about work and socialization.
Computers are constantly changing with the addition of new improvements and introduction of new gadget accessories. Its software programs are also constantly changing that makes computers to need more memory and speeder processors. Because of this development, both software and hardware are becoming obsolete over time. This is the reason why all of a sudden your personal computer is running really slow. When this happens, your first reaction is to call a technician and beg their mercy to “please fix my slow computer”. Don’t panic, not just yet. It is costly if you will have it done by a professional technician. Have it fixed by yourself. Here are some DIY tips on how to improve your computer functionality.
How to speed up a slow computer?
The first step is to defrag your computer system. What defragging does is it increases the speed of the flow of the data in one path. This also increases the speed of the computer. Defragging puts everything in the computer back in their orderly place which makes it easier for the computer to pull data and execute commands. There are tools to make defragging easier. You can download the software Defragging Disk, Disk Clean-up or other cleaning software programs. If your computer is slow due to data clutter, this can definitely improve your computer performance.
The second step is to remove all the unused applications. Check the Taskbar small icons and choose a program that you not normally use. These unused programs share the disk space, memory space and processing power. Thus, they reduce the availability of memory and processing power which then make the computer to run slow. To do this, open the control panel. Click the Add and Remove Icon and select the program that you want to delete. As you remove the program, you free memory and disk spaces that boost your computer’s processing and performance powers.
The last step is to empty the Recycle Bin, a place of the system that store files temporarily; By deleting all the files, you will create more memory space that lead to the increase in speed of your computer.
With these simple steps you don’t need to pay a technician to increase you computer speed. You just need to remove the clutter of your files.
