Why Is My Computer Running Slow

Dell Inspiron Laptop running slow. Did my full clean up procedure and the computer still sluggish. The service host in task manager was maxing out the processor with nothing visible running. Installed SP3 and all Windows updates. It solved the service host issue but now Windows Explorer won’t run. Windows Explorer includes: Desktop Icons, Task Bar and all the ways to explore the files on the PC. Just wouldn’t start……..
