If your computer speed has slowed down considerably over the past few months it can become very frustrating getting anything done. Waiting for a program to run or a file to open on your computer is not only frustrating but causes you to lose focus as a million and one other thoughts run through your head as you are waiting.
Unfortunately it is inevitable that your computer’s speed will slow down with time. Here is a slow computer fix that you can use to get the speed back and reduce your symptoms of attention deficit disorder.
Most computers gradually get slower and in this way they are just like anything that ages. Over time they fill up with data. The data gets amended and deleted. New data is added. Some files are corrupted by viruses or adware. And so the process goes on gradually filling your computer memory up with useful stuff and plenty of junk too. Your once pristine computer starts to resemble a digital junkyard and you need a slow computer fix.
So the key to getting the speed back is to have a big clear out. A spring clean in fact. However since your computer gets well used you need to clean up your computer more than once a year. More like once a month or quarter.
You can do much of this cleaning yourself. Getting rid of programs that you never use can make a big difference to your computers performance, especially if they start up automatically. Every month or so, un-install programs that you don’t use. Clear down the desktop too if it is getting cluttered.
If you use a windows operating system then you might also want to look into cleaning down the registry database. This is a file that the operating system uses to find the locations of various files, programs and setting on your computer. This will also become corrupted as the computer ages. If it gives the processor bad information then the computer will get slow or even freeze or crash.
