Slow computers are highly annoying and frustrating – preventing you from being able to do what you want on them. To check what hardware you have on your system, you should find “My Computer” in the Start menu and then right-click on the icon, selecting “Properties” from the menu that appears. This will then display the “System Stats” of your PC and will display what operating system you are running along-side the specifications of your system. A tip here is that most new software tools (such as Office 2010 and Games) need a lot of hardware power to run properly. So even if you are running a relatively old version of Windows that might be sufficient for your hardware, many of your new programs will not be able to run with outdated specifications.

However, there’s another way to improve the speed of your PC – which is by cleaning out any of the damaged or corrupt settings that it might have.
A little-known fact about Windows is that most computers run slow thanks to a huge build-up of corrupt and damaged settings inside your PC. These settings help Windows ‘remember’ various different things for your PC – from your desktop wallpaper to your latest email – and are one of the most important and vital parts of your system. The only problem is that through every-day use, many registry files become damaged and unreadable, making Windows unable to process the files it needs to run which slows it down.
To fix your slow PC quickly, you can use a ‘registry cleaner’ to fix all the damaged settings that are inside it with a ‘registry cleaner’. This is a software program that will scan through all the settings on your computer and remove any of the damaged or corrupted ones that are on there.
