Why does one computer go slow when another computer is on the internet? They are both connected to a router.?

I just bought on Linksys Wireless G Router. Model Number WRT54G2. I have it hooked up directly to a Windows computer and wirelessly to a mac. when ever i am on the one the other computers internet is very slow. How do i fix this? Thanks for any help.
