Faster Vista! [HD] Ep. 13: Disable Windows Defender Automatic Daily Scan

September 8th, 2010

This video is brought to you by: www.pcmichiana.com Today’s video goes over a utility that comes packaged with Windows Vista called Windows Defender. Windows Defender is designed to run in the background periodically and scan for known malicious software such as spyware. Well, if you have been following this series, you’ve already installed a piece of software that will do that for you and you don’t need to have it automatically run and take up resources at random times of the day. For this reason, it is a good idea to simply disable Windows Defender if you don’t want to bother having it run. I know I don’t bother, because it really isn’t very good protection software anyway, why keep it running?

CamStudio offers more features and functionality than HyperCam… not to mention HyperCam is a microsoft product, of which I tend to avoid.
