Here’s how I fixed my slow computer, and I reckon it would fix yours too. A few weeks ago I started asking myself why is my computer running slow ? I guess everyone has been there at some time, where their computer freezes up and won’t respond. This was worse though. My computer just got slower and slower over the period of a few weeks. Man, it was driving me nuts. I am using Windows XP, but I guess it could happen on any computer system. I have been installing some new computer software recently, but it seems to have been slowing down for a while.
After a few weeks of searching around on the net, I found the solution, which was so simple once I realised what it was. It took me less than 10 minutes from start to finish! Click here to discover what I used to fix it.
My problem machine is a desktop computer. My laptop has been ok, but then I’ve not touched my laptop for ages so I guess that makes sense. I don’t normally get computer problems, and my desktop computer has been working fine since I bought it around 3 years ago. It’s a home computer and it gets used by myself and my boyfriend a fair bit. Some of my friends use it to, when they come around and stay.
Sometimes it’s all working ok and then suddenly I move the mouse and nothing happens. After about 30 seconds it then starts working again and the mouse responds to movement. Another time, I’m surfing the web and the web page I’m trying to load takes ages to come up. This can be a web page that a few minutes ago worked fine. This is when I shout out why is my computer running slow !
Something else that’s happened is that it now seems to take a very long time to boot up. I’ve had to leave the darn thing on all the time now, as I can’t stand having to wait for it to boot up! How crazy is that! My friends have told me that I need to clean the registry and get a registry cleaner. This gave me a few ideas of things to try. Others said it might be a computer virus or that I need to remove spyware. What I didn’t want to have to do was to re-install Windows as this takes ages and i’d probably loose all my current settings and files.
Anyway, i could go on and on as it’s been driving my crazy for a few weeks, but the good news is that there was a simple solution. I stumbled across a website that allowed me to download for free a program that fixed my computer. It now runs much faster and I don’t get any more slow downs. Even web access is faster. Reasons Why My Computer is Running Slowly
As I explained in my last post, my computer is running slow and has been getting slower and slower over the last few weeks. In order to try and solve this problem I’ve been doing some on-line research. In fact, I’ve probably spent far too long trying to work out why my computer is so slow. Apparently there are quite a few reasons why your computer slows down. These include problems with the computer registry, whatever that is! It can also get slower because the ‘virtual memory’ is not set up correctly. Another problem is that your disk drives can get defragmented which can slow down your pc. Yet another cause might be that you have loads of ‘junk’ or temporary files handing around that are not needed.
The list goes on, as ‘active X’ issues can also cause problems. I found all this out while surfing the net. My computer is running windows XP and it’s about 3 years old. It’s not a dinosaur, but it’s also not the latest spec machine either. I really didn’t want to have to buy a new PC as money is pretty tight at the moment. I guess there are a few of you out there in a similar situation. Hence this blog really. Thankfully I did finally find a solution. More in my next post

Why is My Computer Running Slow – I need to fix my computer!
Why is my computer running slow? I found myself asking this question a couple of weeks ago. My computer isn’t very old, but it’s not that new either. Recently my computer has been starting to get slower.
Sometimes I move the mouse and nothing happens for several seconds. It’s starting to get to the point where I’m even thinking about getting a new PC. The problem is that I can’t afford to spend lots of money. I’ve thought about putting in more computer memory, but it has 1 Gb which should be enough for the kind of things I do. The problem is that once you get used to using a computer you kinda rely on it for everyday use. I even tried a free registry cleaner off the front of a magazine but that didn’t do anything.
Over the last month or two it’s been getting worse and worse. I realised this week that I need to do something to speed up the PC. It might even be the computer software I’ve been loading on recently. It seems that the more things I install, the slower it gets.
Anyway, this all changed today. I found the solution. I just wanted to practise my first blog and also tell my story of how I stopped having to ask myself Why is my computer running slow, so you can fix yours too!
